Spinifex Lola 2009

A complex and exciting blend of Semillon, Marsanne, Ugni Blanc, Vermentino and Viognier. A savoury Mediterranean style white with a subtle yet deep bouquet of citrus rind, almond nougat, hay and frangipani flowers and pear. Medium bodied, lovely mid palate texture and freshness! Decant this wine.
When quizzed on the name of this wine, Pete Schell said that most wines seem to fall into a “masculine” or a “feminine” style. When he first made this wine back in 2001, he felt it couldn’t be categorised – it was a bit of both. Like the song “Lola” says “she walked like a woman and talked like a man”.

James Halliday wrote in his 2010 Wine Companion: "..delivers a distinctly European styled wine... full on the finish, texture is the key. 91 points" But in his 2011 edition he has scored it 93 points!
