A superbly luscious wine that has achieved its remarkable array of honey, tropical and tree-fruit
flavours with the help of bunches selectively harvested to optimise botrytis. Grapes are picked with high sugar levels and fermented to produce a relatively high alcohol level of 12%. Not a full-blown sticky, this is great as an aperitif and has the potential to age well. Luscious wine made from hand-selected bunches. A strong honeyed influence is counterbalanced by fresh acidity. A restrained sticky - better as an aperitif than as a match with sweet desert.

The 2006 vintage was hand-harvested in Waipara at 29 to 31 brix. Based solely on ‘clusters
infected with noble rot’, it was tank-fermented with indigenous yeasts and lees-aged for four
months. Light lemon/green, it’s a rich, citrusy, slightly honeyed wine, crisp and sweet (58
grams/litre of residual sugar), with good vigour and intensity. 4 stars – Michael Cooper’s 2008
