Christian Moreau Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons 2009

Domaine Christian Moreau wines are made by one of the oldest and most respected families in Chablis. Fabien is now the sixth generation winemaker and heads up this small but remarkable estate. In a short time (established only in 2002) it has become one of the leading producers of consistently outstanding Chablis. With almost 50% of their production from distinguished Grand Crus sites its no wonder leading Burgundian authority Allen Meadows of Burghound.com names them in the top 3 Chablis producers. Their wines are mouth-filling, vivacious, fresh and complex with a wonderful mineral intensity with just a touch of oak.

From vines aged from 30 to 65 years old aged 2/3rd’s in tank and 1/3rd in barrique (none new).
From a slightly warmer vintage than the 2010 Chablis, Allen Meadows writes of this wine..“A typical Vaillons nose of spice, floral and citrus aromas leads to powerful and solidly well concentrated flavors that are notably ripe but avoid any sense of heaviness on the delicious and sappy finish.” 91 points.
