Chrismont La Casa Rosso 2008 - What a find! This Italian-esque blend of Sangiovese and Merlot really surprised me - it is truly delicious and cries out for mediteranean fare (think Italian sausage, olives, lasagne and pizza!) Made by leading King Valley vigneron Arnie Pizzini (Christmont Wines), it sings with dark cherries, wild blackberries and a hint of aniseed…with great depth and savoury complexity too. Very rare to find a Sangiovese of this quality for such a silly price… Don't tell Arnie it is really a $20 plus wine! This is my new vino rosso de la Casa.

Chrismont La Casa Bianco 2008 - Bowled over by this juicy mediterranean white made by leading King Valley vigneron Arnie Pizzini, pioneer of Italian varieties in Australia. The art of blending at its finest - who would have thought a blend of Arneis and Savagnin would produce such a lip smacking, summery white. It shows a fine citrus thread, interwoven with tropical & floral notes and is beautifully balanced with impressive length and zip. Cries out for a seafood lunch.
