Duane Coates is one of the quiet achievers of the Australian Wine Scene ( Masters in Oenology and an MBA from Adelaide University & soon to become a Master of Wine). His winemaking philosophy is simple: the highest quality fruit from sustainable vineyards ( some organic), harvest when properly ripe and a natural winemaking approach (minimal intervention - wild yeasts, unfined, no additions of tannin, enzyme and acid). Huon Hooke said: “ Every wine I’ve tasted of McLaren Vale’s Duane Coates has been excellent…” Highly impressive wines – a style that bridges the gap between fruit driven Australian style and savoury complex wines of old world Europe. A blend of selected parcels from Clare Valley, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. Sparkling Shiraz at its best. This will develop beautifully in bottle.

Egly- Ouriet has been awarded 3 stars :The highest rating in Le Classement by La Revue du Vin de France. Le Classement is a ranking of the 1300 best domaines in France and only 56 domaines in France have 3 star status. Only 5 champagne houses have 3 star status including Egly- Ouriet together with Krug, Salon, Jacquesson and Selosse. Perhaps the best introduction to the wines of Francis Egly – this is a wine that does not require any bottle age. It is stunning right now! This is all about Grand Cru, low yield Pinot Noir. Natural fermentation with wild yeasts only. The first period of the élevage lasts almost one year, with the wine remaining on its fine lees. The composition comprises 50% from the 2006 vintage with 20% 2005, 20% 2004 and 10% 2003. The wines clarify slowly, as was once typical across the region. 20% of the wine is fermented in oak casks. Dosage is a low 3 to 4 grams per litre. RRP: $145 “This range from Francis Egly is one of the most impressive I tasted… I always look forward to drinking the wines of Egly-Ouriet and I can’t recommend these Champagnes highly enough.” Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. “Few producers can equal Francis Egly in skill and experience, and larger houses cannot hope to emulate the cultivation norms…” Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve, The World's Greatest Wines. “Egly-Ouriet is one of the reference-point growers in Champagne, with a deep selection of wines that offer remarkable transparency to site, vintage and variety. ... These are among the most pure, unmanipulated Champagnes readers will come across, and the estate’s new releases are all highly recommended.” Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. “From top to bottom these wines impress for their inimitable class. A non-interventionalist approach in the vineyards and cellar, old-vine parcels in top vineyards and long lees-aging are some of the qualities that define these sublime Champagnes.” Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate # 192 Dec, 2010.

"Krug Grande Cuvée is as a symphony, a composition where the instruments all play together, complementing each other in total harmony." -Henri Krug. 97 points, James Halliday " ...the wine is as imperiously complex, rich and mouthfilling as ever, a blend of more than 100 parcels of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier spanning eight to 10 vintages that spends six years on lees prior to disgorgement. It has a fascinating squeaky acidity that is a chord providing the ultimate harmony and balance of a truly superb wine." "I’ve always loved the bold, oxidative, exotically spiced style of Krug’s "multi-vintage" entry level superstar. “Francis Egly notes that 2002 was ‘The kind of vintage you would love to see year after year.’ Suffice to say that those looking for the absolute pinnacle of vintage Champagne will not be disappointed. An iconic producer in one of the finest vintages of recent times.” Importers note. When faced with this wine it seemed somehow impolite to take notes. Instead we focused our full attention on the glass which, as it turns out was indescribably beautiful. In short this is 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay from 40-year-old vines in Ambonnay, aged completely in barrel (25% new), no malo, and virtually no dosage RRP $300. Limited

Very limited. Stock very low- Email us first before ordering this! 48 months on lees, It should be enough to state that Anselme Selosse buys his Pinot Noir from Francis Egly in order to produce the Selosse Rosé. The same principles of vinification apply as to all Egly’s wines. The blend is 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay. 60% comes from 2006 with 40% vins de reserve including 10% Coteaux Champenois Rouge 2005. Dosage is again a negligible 2 grams per litre. It’s a stunning wine with lifted aromatics of ripe red fruits and smoke. In the mouth it is fine yet incredibly intense, with a long, earthy finish. So unbelievably pure and refined it is incomparable to any other Rosé we know. “The NV Brut Rose Grand Cru is made from vineyards in Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzy. This is another totally convincing wine from Egly-Ouriet, not to mention one of the strongest wines in the line-up. The Rose Grand Cru captivates for its gorgeous, fragrant fruit and silky, refined finish. It is a jewel of a wine. The Rose Grand Cru spent 48 months on its lees and was disgorged in July, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015.” 93 points, Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate # 192 Dec, 2010. RRP $185

94 points and Top 100 Wines for 2011, James Halliday. 9th generation winemaker and native of Bordeaux, Dominique Portet is regarded as a pioneer of the renaissance of the Victorian Wine industry since 1976 when he was responsible for the renowned wines of Taltarni and Clover Hill. Estatblishing his own label in 2000 in the Yarra Valley, this Brut Rose made in the traditional method, is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay - a deliciously savoury sparkling with aromas of fresh strawberries and rose petals with a crisp, clean, creamy finish. THE perfect aperitif for all celeberations ahead! RRP: $34 "A blend of pinot noir and chardonnay grown in the Yarra Valley, and fermented in the bottle; bright pale pink, it has most attractive strawberry fruit flavours, with very good lenght; the LD signifies light dosage (that is, lesser than normal sugar added to the wine after disgorgement). It all works perfectly to result in a wine for all seasons." 94 points, James Halliday and Top 100 Wines for 2011. "...Dominique Portet always produces a delightful , cheery non-vintage rose that ticks all the right boxes. It has an enticing pale onion-skin hue and being a dry fresh style means it’s just right as an aperitif. Pretty on the nose with its red berry fruit, especially an aroma of strawberries, some spice, too, but it’s not a fruity wine and while not overly complex, it has a fine savoury edge and creamy mousse." Jane Faulkiner, The Age, Oct 2011.
