Salsa is a Spanish word meaning sauce - it must be winemaker Kym Teusner's sauce! Made because of his particular aversion to many Aussie roses (often sweet and acidified to create zing!). A blend of grenache shiraz mourvedre fruit grown specifically for rose.. that is grapes picked with plenty of natural acidity and freshness, cold soaked for 24 hours and fermented (dry style) and matured in old oak on lees to impart creamy texture to the wine. Made in the dry provencal style. Seriously good sauce - the ultimate lunch wine. Campbell Mattinson from Winefront loved the 09 “A blend of Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz which the marketing man for Teusner tells me is the Rosé equivalent of La Taché. Nice cheeky rosy red with red fruits and an attractive floral perfume. It’s not too dry, nor too sweet, just juicy and well balanced with excellent length of flavour. A little clip of grip and herb on the finish is a lovely touch. Seriously drinkable. 92pts” RRP $ 20
