A blend of 53% Shiraz, 37% mataro, grenache 10% sourced from old vineyards in Barossa and Eden Valley. Handpicked fruit, wild yeasts, open fermenters, french oak. Striking aromatic complexity-dark plums, cherries, licorice, meaty, tar and earth. Rich palate with superb balance and structure...Peter Schell winemaker has done incredibly well here. This is a baby and needs cellaring 5 yrs for the layers of flavour to unfold. Decant for the afternoon before drinking. Recommend careful cellaring up to 10 years..Top Shelf. Limited

It tastes minerally and funky at first but given air, it’s a wash with delicious flavours of cedarwood, cloves, dark cherries, five-spice and probably a good many other things.
