Picardy Pinot Noir 2007

Very smart pinot noir made as a salute to the alchemists of burgundy! 2007 was a favourable vintage for the Pannells in Pemberton.

The palate is rich and intense with an attractive mouth feel, well supported by powdery tannins, finesse and pure robust fruit. There are tantalising cherry, strawberry, chocolate and gamey characteristics, followed by a finish with terrific length and persistence. (Bill Pannell thinks this pinot is showing exciting flavour in its youth and will give the 2005 a run for its money particularly as the 07 has a substantial % of clone 777.)
