Malenchini Chianti Colli Fiorentini 2009

Wow, this chianti got our attention - it's packed full of flavour and personality!

Diletta Malenchini runs the winery and olive grove(the vineyard has been in the Malenchini family for more than 200 years- natural philosophy with minimal herbicides/ pesticides in the vineyard).

A blend of sangiovese (90%) with a touch of canaiolo. The vineyard is located in the hills just outside Florence "Colli Fiorentini" We were highly impressed with this juicy chainti - rich round dark berried fruit with some savoury leather and spice with fine tannins.

This medium bodied chianti impressed us with depth of fruit, palate weight and personality! Best we have seen for the price. Dangerously more-ish with pizza, pasta!
