Stephen George wears 3 winemakers’ hats, one for his Ashton Hills wines coming from his estate vineyard high in the Adelaide Hills, one for Galah wines and the other for the iconic Wendouree in Clare.

“.... excellent line, length and focus shows the cool vintage and modest alcohol, but is fully ripe in black fruit mould; tannins entirely tamed. Drink to 2017. 94 points." James Halliday Wine Companion 2009.

Prized fruit for this wine was sourced from the Wendouree vineyard (bulk of the fruit from the 1911 plantings – now 99 years old!).

Decant this spectacular wine for at least 4 hours (this is still tight on opening) or cellar carefully up to 2020. Enjoy with roast meat. Limited.
