Akarua Rua Pinot Noir 2010

Rich ripe plum, dark cherry/boysenberry fruits are nicely dusted by fine sweet spices and a floral element pushing up through the richness. There is an exotic note edging towards chocolate and fruit cake, but it is fresh and well focused. Medium bodied with weight, concentration and structure for price. Medium with good texture full of ripe dark cherry and darker berry fruits that are rich but not sweet, in part thanks
to the abundance of fine drying tannins. Very serious for the price point although it should be softening over the next two years to provide immense pleasure.
