A new generation of growers and winemakers in Spain have been shaking up the world of wine!  Discover this new wave of vino from famous regions such as Rioja, Ribera Del Duero, Rueda and  Rias Baxas. Learn about the fine red varieties of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mencia and whites - Verdejo and Albarino.  Featured wines include Telmo Rodriguez, Alvaro Palacios, Angel Rodriguez (godfather of Verdejo) Roda (the “Grand Cru of Rioja) and more…

This stand up tasting will be accompanied by Spanish gourmet tapas created by Ricky O’Campo at Ricky’s Cafe Under the Bridge, a passionate chef with Spanish heritage.  Ricky opened the first Spanish restaurant on the lower north shore in 2001 - Carabella which was included in the SMH Good Food Guide for four years from 2002, specialising in Tapas and Paella and other Spanish regional dishes.  Now, after a 3 year break, he is back with Ricky’s Cafe Under the Bridge.

On Thursday 7th October 2010 the Vine Press will host Vino Argentino!

Argentina is the world’s 5th largest wine producer with a proud tradition dating back to the 1550’s. The wine growing region of Mendoza is famous for producing the world’s finest Malbec – a plush red with juicy fruit notes, violet aromas and fine grained, dry tannins – other aromatic whites such as Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc also benefit from the long growing season, sunlight and cold nights to produce elegant wines which are uniquely Argentinian.
