Scotchmans Hill Shiraz 2008 scored a cracking 94 points from James Halliday in his 2012 Australian Wine Companion … “Dark, earthy, savoury and full of liqueur-soaked black plum; the palate is dark and brooding, with a generous dollop of spice and fruit, elements of leather and vibrant, almost crunch acidity to conclude.

Nick Farr of By Farr wines reviews his 2009 By Farr Viognier ...”Great colour, fine yet perfumed. Fantastic varietal character of peaches. The palate is restrained and mouth filling with underlying power and lingering aftertaste. Viognier by Farr continues to be more refined and structured than ever before.”

Jed Limited Release Cabernet Franc 2006 is winemaker’s favourite wine.

Rhys recently travelled to Argentina and caught up with Tom Egan from Jed Wines.   Great to retaste their wines on home soil.   The Jed Limited Release Cabernet Franc 2006 still gets Tom Egan excited, naming it his favourite wine from his line up!!  From low yielding vines, hand picked and sorted 70% is matured in new French oak for 18 months.  Only 10 barrels were made. Cab Franc loves a cool inland climate and that is exactly what it gets in the Uco Valley.   Fragrant aromas of ripe cassis, fresh herbs with focus/concentrated purity of fruit, velvety tannins and great length. Only 10 barrels were made. Decant this incredibly complex wine.
